Las Palmeras

Guatemalans giving back to Guatemalans

Located just 12 minutes from the Mexican border, Las Palmeras resides in a hot and arid region of Guatemala, where the local economy revolves around pineapple cultivation. Unfortunately, the community faces profound poverty.

In a remarkable display of generosity, César and Rodolfo Peña, along with Edna Barragán de Peña, donated land to Access Education, enabling the construction of the village's first elementary school. Thanks to the immense support of Grapes for Humanity Canada, the school was built from the ground up in under six months.
