Covid-19 hit hard in Guatemala. Food insecurity was off the map in the community of La Union.
After 8+ years, Access Education takes a closer look at how far the village of La Union has come. It is no surprise that the peoples lives and the health of the community has drastically improved over this time.
This year Access Education Guatemala Children’s Fund proudly honours board member, Kim Beckman, for ten years of outstanding service. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication over the last decade, Kim.
Just over a month ago we had the pleasure to be in La Union, Guatemala to open the final phase of our project there – A High School. Before we arrived in La Union, ten years ago there was only a small Primary School. Now there is a larger Primary school, a Middle school and a High School.
The school opening ceremony was over three hours long in 30 degree Celsius heat! That didn’t stop the kids from storming into the new classrooms that they had yet to inhabit and soon pickup trucks began arriving with the furniture.
